Beloved Kapuso stars Barbie Forteza and David Licauco will showcase their on-screen chemistry in their debut movie together, "That Kind of Love," under Pocket Media Productions, Inc., premiering in cinemas on July 10.

"I am thrilled about this film because I'm a fan of rom-com movies like How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days, Pretty Woman, and 10 Things I Hate About You. This is the type of film that will reignite your belief in love," Barbie expressed during an interview for the promo of their latest movie at Plaza Ibarra in Quezon City recently.

Barbie shared, "This is our first movie as a love team. The success of the BarDa love team was not about perfect timing Hindi perfect timing yung success ng BarDa love team. It was about taking risks and working together. We hope the audience will respond. Our love team is not about the timing, it's about the chemistry and the best partnership that we build."

"Pero yung pagpapalabas ng ganitong feel good, rom-com is a good timing. Lately puro edgy ang napapanood natin. Ito parang feel good na hahanap-hanapin mo. If you are stressed, this is the genre that you will look for para masaya kang matutulog sa gabi," she said.

In the movie, Barbie steps into the shoes of Mila, a psychologist and a love coach. David, on the other hand, embodies Alan, a successful businessman who is overly confident about women. 'He believes he is perfect, so I am challenged to find his match. But through the process, I slowly found myself falling for him.'

Barbie, 26, mentioned that the movie was offered before starring in the series "Maging Sino Ka Man," and the movie was filmed in 2023.

"When the movie was offered to us, nagpi-pick up na ang BarDa. So, kaming dalawa, we decided it was a good follow-up project. Everyone was on board right away. So lahat kami is excited," she said.

Barbie was thrilled about the movie, especially because part of it was filmed in South Korea for two weeks. It was finally a dream come true for her to visit Korea.

"We went there in May last year, and the weather was great. We were able to shoot in some locations featured in popular K-dramas. I finally got to experience authentic Korean food.

"It was my first time in South Korea at gustong-gusto ko talagang pumunta roon. Before pandemic, balak ko na talagang pumunta roon for the Holy Week pero nag-lockdown na. That time I wanted to go there for the food. Mahilig ako sa Korean food. Finally with this film, I was able to experience South Korea. We will also feature a famous designer from South Korea. Her name is Lisa Mong. Sikat din siyang fashion designer ng mga Korean actress," she added.

Barbie and David's love team rose to fame in the hit series "Maria Clara at Ibarra" in 2022. Two years later, Barbie described her partnership with David as comfortable.

"I feel comfortable with David. Every time we work together, we become more comfortable with each other on and off the camera.

"During break time, we talk and nalalaman ko yung mga routine niya, passion niya sa business. So, I got to know him outside the matinee idol persona. He's not the type (of person) to impress everyone. What you see is what you get.

"Our personalities are opposite. Pero kasi yung sense of humor naming dalawa nagtutugma. I don't know if David knows this, but he's naturally funny when he tries not to be funny.

"Mas lalo siyang nakakatawa. He's serious because marami rin siyang iniisip like businesses. Pero kapag wala na siyang ginagawa, okay na siyang kausap and he's interesting," she also said.

Barbie, who has been in a relationship with Jak Roberto for seven years, said his personal affair was never a factor in her acceptance of the movie offer.

"Deciding on this film, my relationship with Jack was never a factor in my decision. Maliwanag naman sa akin na hiwalay ang lovelife ko sa profession."

Barbie also mentioned that she has given love advice to David.

"Humihingi siya ng advice. Sabi nga niya, seven years na kayo so paano ninyo nagawa? Sabi ko lang sa kanya, you just have to listen to your partner. Hindi yung makikinig ka lang para may maisagot ka. Makinig kang mabuti. Baka kasi at the height of your argument, hindi mo na maintindihan yung sinasabi niya kasi galit ka nga.

"Calm yourself down. Listen to your partner para alam ninyo kung paano ninyo bibigyan ng solution ang problema. You always have to be the bigger person in a relationship. Kasi lalaki siya. Kailangan maging mature kayo sa relasyon especially in this type of profession.

"Ang daming gray area lalo na love team kami. When you enter a personal relationship, at meron kang professional partnership with someone, you have to be mature and mindful sa kalagayan ng personal relationship ninyo," she said.

On her greatest lesson in love, Barbie said: "At the end of the day, love is a choice. You choose to love the person despite his imperfections and flaws. You choose to love the person kahit hindi siya kamahal-mahal.  You choose to love the person kahit napapagod ka na, and you do so because he makes you the best version of yourself. Love is always a choice."
