Carpenter riding bicycle struck, killed by van in Quezon

TIAONG, Quezon – A 47-year-old carpenter was killed after his  bicycle was hit by a utility van on the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Lalig here on June 21.

Police identified the victim as Rufino Basco, a resident of Sitio Ibaba, Barangay Bulakin, this town.

Basco went underneath the van and died from head and body injuries.

The driver of the van, Ramon, 37, from Biñan City, Laguna, was arrested and faces a case of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
