2 men arrested for illegal possession of firearms, shabu in Muntinlupa, Taguig
Two men were arrested for illegal possession of firearms and suspected shabu in Muntinlupa and Taguig on June 21.
The Muntinlupa Police arrested alias Jovanie, 29, in Barangay Poblacion for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
The Poblacion Substation in Muntinlupa received a text message from a citizen about a man who was carrying a gun and causing public alarm.

When the police arrived, they saw a man matching the citizen’s description in an alley. Recovered from him were a .22-caliber revolver and two pieces of live ammunition.
In Taguig, the police arrested alias Celestino, 42, in Barangay Bagumbayan.
During Oplan Sita, the police from Substation 10 apprehended him who allegedly disregarded the operation.
The police saw a gun tucked in the suspect’s hip. The suspect failed to present the necessary documents for his .45-caliber firearm, leading to his arrest.

During a body search, the police also discovered one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, weighing 5.11 grams with an estimated street value of P34,748.
Both suspects are under the custody of the police. The two will face complaints for illegal possession of firearms. Celestino will also be charged for possession of shabu.
