TABUK CITY, Kalinga -- Seventeen persons were injured after a passenger jeepney overturned while descending a road in Sitio Balangabang, Barangay Dangoy, Lubuangan, Kalinga early Saturday morning, June 22.

Police Capt. Ruff Manganip, spokesperson of the Kalinga police provincial office, said the accident happened at 5:20 a.m.
He said that the jeepney, which had 17 persons on board, including the driver, was enroute from Barangay Uma, Lubuagan to Tabuk City.
“The accident occurred when the vehicle’s brake malfunctioned causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle suddenly overturned,” he said.
Police brought the victims to the hospital where they are in stable condition.
