The Valenzuela City government inaugurated its newly-installed streetlights and closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at Dalandanan National High School and 3S Center Pasolo on Thursday, June 20.

The initiative marked the completion of Phase I of the extensive street lightning project by the city government. Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie “WES” Gatchalian led the launching ceremony.
The city government said the project covers a total length of 40 kilometers of secondary roads, consisting of 1,241 street lights and 237 CCTV cameras. The project costs a total of P351,200,000.
It added that the initiative underscores the city’s commitment in improving public safety and enhancing the quality of life of its residents.

Meanwhile, the newly installed street lights and CCTVs are expected to significantly improve visibility at night, reduce criminal activities, and aid in traffic management.
Gatchalian expressed his confidence that residents are now safer going home at night and that police officers find it easier to patrol the community.
More than 19 major and secondary roads are covered by this project and we allotted more than three hundred million pesos for this project. This is the biggest street lighting project in Valenzuela to date, and I can now confidently say that every Pamilyang Valenzuelano will now feel safe and secure when going home at night, and this will also help the police to patrol our community better),” he said.
