Former Terrafirma Dyip star Javi Gomez De Liano and Gilas Pilipinas youth team standout Dalph Panopio were among the latest Filipino players to take their act to the Korean Basketball League.

Gomez De Liano, following a stellar season with the Dyip in the PBA, tried his luck overseas again this time and signed for Korean team Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters as their Asian quota import.
He is taking the spot left by Anyang’s former import Rhenz Abando who played for the team for two years. De Liano was averaging 16.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while helping Terrafirma to its breakthrough playoff appearance in the Philippine Cup.
With the move, he joined his brother Juan in the KBL, already playing for Seoul SK Knights.
Meanwhile, Suwon KT Sonicboom also tapped the services of the Italy-raised Filipino point guard Panopio to also become its Asian quota import.
Panopio, who played alongside Kai Sotto and AJ Edu in the 2018 FIBA U18 Asian Championship, is taking his first foray to the professional scene outside Italy following his stint in an Italian pro-league in 2018.
He spent the next three years with NCAA Division II team Cal State Bakersfield where he averaged 4.6 points, 1.0 rebound, and 0.8 assists in 12.3 minutes of play for the Roadrunners in his last year.
Like Gomez De Liano, Panopio is taking the spot vacated by another Filipino import in Dave Ildefonso.
