This advice was delivered by CICC Deputy Executive Director Assistant Secretary Mary Rose Magsaysay during a public briefing on PTV's Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon segment.

"So usually, my suggestion is if you're going to get into AIs, you should set up another account that isn't linked to your personal emails or work emails," Magsaysay said in a mix of English and Filipino.

"Create a specific account that you'll use for onboarding onto AI platforms," she added.

She emphasized the risk of breaches, particularly with work email addresses, noting, "You're giving away your information. Sometimes the AI is free, you are the product."

Magsaysay highlighted the diverse applications of AI, saying that she  observed numerous AI solutions that cater to various needs, from cooking recipes to data classification and programming in Python.

Additionally, she advised using a cellphone number exclusively for these purposes.

She concluded by cautioning that even paid AI services may collect user data, underscoring the importance of vigilance in digital interactions.

"There are so many AIs coming out. What is its rating? Which company? You should also do a bit of investigation. Check if, right?" she said

"And it doesn't mean that if you're paying for the AI, they're not collecting your information," she added.
