Jaime Lisondra Ferrer Jr. and Raul Fajardo Dumagil were arrested in an entrapment operation conducted by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation-Central Visayas (NBI-7) inside a mall here on Tuesday night, June 18.
The victim’s lawyer sought help from NBI-7 after the suspects allegedly demanded money from her client in exchange for the non-publication and deletion of the victim’s sexually explicit video with a partner.
The victim had already given P70,000 to the suspects.
However, the suspects demanded an additional P1 million so they would not show the video to the woman’s family.
The suspects had shown the video to one of the victim’s friends before the operation materialized.
The suspects were arrested after they received a brown envelope containing P200,000 during the operation, the NBI-7 said.
Charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9995, otherwise known as Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, in relation to RA 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 were filed against the suspects.
The suspects will also face charges for robbery-extortion.
They underwent inquest proceedings before City Assistant Prosecutor Jill Ann Paculaba-Gealon on Thursday morning, June 20.
