Coming off a 26-28, 25-23, 25-18, 26-28, 15-13 stunner over Team USA on Wednesday, the Iranians are already eliminated for a final eight spot but continued their winning ways for the second straight match.
They improved their win-loss slate to 2-8, while Netherlands fell to 3-7 record.
Six-foot-8 opposite spiker and middle blocker Amin Esmaeilnezhad led Iran with 25 kills, three blocks and a service point for 29 points while Poriya Hossein Firouzjah added 23 attacks, three blocks and a service ace for 27 points.
Six-foot-5 outside Milad Ebadipour contributed 13 points, 12 on attacks and a service point.
“It was great. The atmosphere, we’re really so excited to play in one of the best countries for volleyball, for the fans you know, it’s great. It’s a great experience for us. And I hope, all season, all year, they follow volleyball,” Milad said.
