‘Habagat’ to continue to dampen parts of the country — PAGASA

Rains associated with the southwest monsoon or “habagat” are expected to persist for the next 24 hours in several parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday, June 20.

Cloudy skies with scattered monsoon rain showers and thunderstorms may persist over Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, Central Visayas, Western Visayas, and Mindanao.

PAGASA warned that flash floods or landslides could occur in these areas due to moderate to heavy rainfall.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the habagat could also continue to affect Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, and Marinduque.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country could experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA also warned the public about potential flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
