Publicly-listed nickel mining firm NiHAO Mineral Resources International Inc. reported that its wholly-owned subsidiary Mina Tierra Gracia Inc. (MTGI) has entered into an operating agreement with Sorentomines Inc.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), NiHAO said the agreement calls for the exploration, development, extraction, and marketing of minerals obtained from MTGI’s mineral property in the municipalities of Botolan and Iba, Zambales.
It added that the property is covered by MTGI’s Mineral Production and Sharing Agreement No. 345-2010-III Amended I (MPSA).
Under the Agreement, Sorentomines shall start the exploration, development, extraction, and marketing of nickel ore mined from MTGI’s mineral property within six months from the signing of the Agreement and issuance of all relevant mining and environmental permits and clearances.
MTGI shall be entitled to royalty fees and an annual fee to be paid by Sorentomines. The Operating Agreement shall be valid for the remaining period of the MPSA, and any renewal thereof.
The execution of the Agreement is not expected to adversely affect the business, operations and financial condition of the company or MTGI.
However, NiHAO said, “the signing of the Agreement is expected to benefit MTGI as the exploration, development, extraction, and marketing of minerals are in furtherance of the mining business of the Company and MTGI.”
