GUMACA, Quezon – A 60-year-old housewife was killed and a 37-year-old welder was injured after they were hit by a three-wheel motorbike or tuk-tuk on Friday morning, May 31, in Barangay Hagakhakin, this municipality.

Police Major Marnie Abellanida, Gumaca police chief, identified the victim as Elsa.
Abellanida said Elsa was walking on the road shoulder when the driver of the tuk-tuk, Andres, 42, a security supervisor, fell asleep and lost control of the vehicle with license plate number 104HWP.
The tuk-tuk crashed into Elsa and a delivery boy, Alvin.
Elsa was declared dead at the Gumaca District Hospital. Alvin was taken to the same hospital and is now recovering.
Police said Andres faces a case of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, physical injury, and damage to property.
