Stars of Korean series 'Hierarchy' thankful for achieving No. 1 spot on Netflix's weekly chart

The stars of “Hierarchy” thanked viewers after the Korean series grabbed the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s weekly Global Top 10 list. 

“Hierarchy,” released on June 7, rose to the top spot on the non-English TV list with 6.3 million views for the period June 10 to 16. It debuted at No. 2 on the list last week with 3.5 million views.

The high-teen scandal, set in the elite Jooshin High School where the top 0.01 percent rule with order and law, follows a transfer student who disrupts their solid world with a hidden secret. 

“Hierarchy” ranked in the top 10 in 72 countries and regions including getting the No. 1 spot in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. 

It is in the top 10 in Argentina, Bahamas,  Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile. Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay,  Peru, Trinidad and Tobago,  Uruguay, Venezuela, Austria, Belgium,  Bulgaria,  France,  Germany,  Greece,  Hungary,  Luxembourg, Malta,  Portugal,  Romania,  Serbia,  Spain, Switzerland, Egypt, Kenya,  Mauritius,  Morocco, Nigeria, Réunion,  South Africa, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Cyprus,  India,  Japan,  Jordan,   Kuwait,  Lebanon, Malaysia, Maldives, Oman,  Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka,  Turkey, United Arab Emirates, New Caledonia and New Zealand. 

“Hierarchy” stars Roh Jeong-eui, Lee Chae-min, Kim Jae-won, Ji Hye-won, and Lee Won-jung. 

“I’m so happy that I can’t even think of what to say. I’m grateful to everyone involved in ‘Hierarchy.’ I love the ‘Hierarchy Kids’ cast and thank them for becoming good friends. I’m truly grateful to the viewers,” said Roh Jeong-eui. 

Lee Chae-min said, “Receiving so much love makes me happy every day. I hope you remember ‘Kang Ha’ from ‘Hierarchy’ for a long time, and I will continue to show various sides of myself. Thank you once again.”

According to Kim Jae-won, “First of all, thank you to the fans who loved ‘Hierarchy.’ Achieving No. 1 in the Global Top 10 Series (Non-English) category feels like a miracle. I will continue to strive to be a dedicated actor.”

“Before the release, I felt half excited, half worried. Achieving No. 1 in the Global TOP 10 TV (Non-English) category makes me indescribably happy and thrilled,” said Chi Hae-won. 

Lee Won-jeong said, “Hearing that many people are loving the series makes me extremely happy and proud. Thanks to this, more people are recognizing me. If there are still people who haven’t watched ‘Hierarchy,’ I hope they do, and I will strive to be an actor who brings happiness to viewers’ daily lives.”

“Hierarchy” is now streaming exclusively on Netflix.
