Stars of Korean series ‘Hierarchy’ thankful for achieving No. 1 spot on Netflix’s weekly chart


The stars of “Hierarchy” thanked viewers after the Korean series grabbed the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s weekly Global Top 10 list. 

“Hierarchy,” released on June 7, rose to the top spot on the non-English TV list with 6.3 million views for the period June 10 to 16. It debuted at No. 2 on the list last week with 3.5 million views.

"Hierarchy" is No. 1 on Netflix's non-English TV list for the period June 10 to 16 (Netflix)

The high-teen scandal, set in the elite Jooshin High School where the top 0.01 percent rule with order and law, follows a transfer student who disrupts their solid world with a hidden secret. 

“Hierarchy” ranked in the top 10 in 72 countries and regions including getting the No. 1 spot in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. 

It is in the top 10 in Argentina, Bahamas,  Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile. Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay,  Peru, Trinidad and Tobago,  Uruguay, Venezuela, Austria, Belgium,  Bulgaria,  France,  Germany,  Greece,  Hungary,  Luxembourg, Malta,  Portugal,  Romania,  Serbia,  Spain, Switzerland, Egypt, Kenya,  Mauritius,  Morocco, Nigeria, Réunion,  South Africa, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Cyprus,  India,  Japan,  Jordan,   Kuwait,  Lebanon, Malaysia, Maldives, Oman,  Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka,  Turkey, United Arab Emirates, New Caledonia and New Zealand. 

“Hierarchy” stars Roh Jeong-eui, Lee Chae-min, Kim Jae-won, Ji Hye-won, and Lee Won-jung.

According to Kim Jae-won, “First of all, thank you to the fans who loved ‘Hierarchy.’ Achieving No. 1 in the Global Top 10 Series (Non-English) category feels like a miracle. I will continue to strive to be a dedicated actor.”
