PRO-6 nabs 917 individuals in 15-day operation

ILOILO CITY – Police arrested 917 individuals for various offenses in the Western Visayas region from June 1 to 16.

The Police Regional Office-6 said 297 wanted persons were arrested in the region comprised of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.

Sixty-six were considered as most wanted persons (MWPs) and 231 were classified as other wanted persons (OWPs).

The PRO-6 also caught 204 for illegal gambling, 196 drug suspects and P26-million worth of shabu and marijuana valued at P14,000, 170 for illegal fishing, 33 for illegal firearms, and 17 for illegal gambling.

“These arrests show our commitment to our campaign against wanted persons in the region. We have to strengthen our collaboration with the community to gather more information on the whereabouts of the remaining wanted persons,” said Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director.
