The Land Transportation Office (LTO) inaugurated its newest extension office in Naga City, Cebu on Thursday, June 20.
LTO chief Asst. Sec. Vigor D. Mendoza II said the opening the new LTO Naga City Extension Office would reinforce the ongoing full digitalization efforts of all the LTO services — from application and renewal of a driver’s license to the application and renewal of motor vehicle registration.
“Our digitalization efforts, along with our plans to open more satellite and extension offices, would make it easier for the Filipino people to enjoy fast and comfortable services of the LTO,” he said.
Mendoza urged LTO employees in Naga City and the entire Central Visayas region to live up to the ideals of President Marcos Jr.’s “Bagong Pilipinas,” that is, delivering fast and comfortable services to the Filipino people.
He said this has been his guiding principle since he assumed the top LTO post in July last year, which led to the gradual solutions of the years-long problems on driver’s license and license plates backlog.
“Kapag naayos na natin ang lahat ng challenges sa LTO, kasama diyan ang normalization ng supply ng plastic card at plaka, tiyak na lalong ma-aapreciate ng taong bayan ang ating mga hirap at pagod (Once we address all the challenges in the LTO, including the normalization of supply of plastic cards and plates, I’m sure the public will appreciate more our efforts),” Mendoza told the LTO employees.
He also urged all the Office’s officials and employees to continue extending the free Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) to as many poor Filipinos.
The LTO has been offering its free TDCs to willing learners as part of its outreach program. A TDC is a major requirement for individuals applying for student driving permits. It usually costs around P1,000 in driving schools.
