Boracay still among Asia's best island destinations – DestinAsian

ILOILO CITY – World-famous Boracay Island remains among the top beach destinations in Asia, according to the 2024 DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Award.

BORACAY Island earns a recognition in the 2024 DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Award.

The country’s most famous beach destination located in Malay town, Aklan province retained its rank as the 5th Best Island Destination in the region.

Boracay was one of the two Philippine destinations on the list. The other is Palawan at ninth.

“What’s good about this is that it’s voted on by the people,” said Malay Mayor Frolibar Bautista.

“With this, we are expecting more tourists to Boracay this year,” Bautista said in a phone interview on Wednesday, June 19.

Bautista said that Boracay surpassed the 1.8 million tourist arrival target in 2023 when more than 2.1 million visited the island-resort.

Boracay Island had been included in Time Magazine’s 50 World’s Greatest Places and the World’s Best Islands in Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Award.

DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Award 2024 named Bali, Indonesia as the best island.
