PAGASA: ‘Habagat’ to bring rain showers over parts of Luzon, Visayas

Some parts of Luzon and Western Visayas may experience rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday, June 18.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may affect Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Zambales, and Bataan.

PAGASA warned that these areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rainfall.

Moreover, the habagat is expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to Metro Manila, Zamboanga Peninsula, Western Visayas, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas.

Meanwhile, in the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy weather is expected with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA also warned the public about potential flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
