E-bike driver caught for drug peddling

CEBU CITY—An e-bike driver was arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Duljo Fatima here on Monday night, June 17.

The 33-year-old suspect, a certain Demot, was cornered in a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit.

Police said 300 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P2,040,000 were recovered from the suspect.

Police said that the suspect was placed under close monitoring after some concerned citizens reported his alleged illegal drug activities.

Based on the monitoring, the suspect was capable of selling 500 grams of shabu a week.

Police added that the suspect’s area of distribution included Barangays Mambaling, Duljo-Fatima, and other barangays in this city.
