P34.3-M shabu, marijuana destroyed

BUTUAN CITY – Authorities destroyed suspected shabu and marijuana seized in the Caraga, Davao, and the Central Mindanao regions worth P34.3 million over the weekend here.

Incinerated were 4,209.0119 grams of shabu valued at P28.6 million and 47,598.9744 grams of marijuana worth P5.7 million.

Officials of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the three regions, the Police Regional Office-13, Department of Justice, and local government officials witnessed the destruction ceremony.

PDEA-13 Information Office chief Dindo Abellanosa and PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office head Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said the event is part of the government efforts to destroy and dispose of confiscated illicit drugs amid issues of that these are being recycled and sold.
