Mayor Honey greets 253 newlyweds of Araw ng Maynila's Kasalang Bayan

Manila Mayor Honey-Lacuna Pangan greeted the 253 newlyweds of the recent Kasalang Bayan held in celebration of Araw ng Maynila.
Lacuna-Pangan and Vice Mayor John Marvin "Yul Servo" Nieto personally led the wedding rites.
During the reception, sponsored by the city government, Lacuna-Pangan called on the newly weds to make their marriage work and advised the ones who stood as sponsors to guide them so that they would have a successful union.
In performing the civil rites as city mayor, she stressed the need for the couples to understand that marriage should be well thought of and that they must be responsible for their decision.
"Nais kong ipaunawa sa lahat ng narito laluna sa mga ikakasal na ang ganitong kasalan na ginagampanan ng isang Punong-Lungsod na awtorisadong tagapag-paganap ay ligal at balido (I want to make everyone here understand especially the bride and groom that this kind of wedding performed by a Mayor as authorized executive is legal and valid)," she explained.
"Sana ay tuloy-tuloy ang inyong pagmamahalan... At sa mga ninong at ninang, sana ay gabayan at tulungan ninyo ang mga bagong kasal nang sa gayon naman po ay maganda ang kanilang pagsasama. In behalf of the city government of Manila, nais ko kayong batiin. Mabuhay ang bagong kasal (I hope your love continues... And to the godfathers and godmothers, I hope you guide and help the newlyweds so that they have a good marriage. On behalf of the city government of Manila, I want to congratulate you. Long live the newly weds)" the mayor said.

The two activities were part of the the celebration of the 453rd Founding Anniversary of Manila on June 24.
