Heat index reaches danger level in 25 areas on June 17 --- PAGASA
Twenty-five areas nationwide experienced a heat index that is considered “dangerous” on Monday, June 17, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA said the highest heat index of the day was recorded in Aparri, Cagayan at 47 degrees Celsius (°C).
Heat indices in Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; and Masbate City, Masbate were recorded at 45°C.
PAGASA recorded a heat index of 44°C in Bacnotan, La Union; Baler (Radar), Aurora; and CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur while a 43°C heat index was observed in NAIA, Pasay City; Calayan, Cagayan; and CLSU Munoz, Nueva Ecija.
The heat index in Science Garden, Quezon City; Sinait, Ilocos Sur; Laoag City, Ilocos; MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte; Itbayat, Batanes; Basco (Radar), Batanes; NVSU Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya; ISU Echague, Isabela; Casiguran, Aurora; Abucay, Bataan; Cubi Pt., Subic Bay, Olongapo City; Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas; Tanay, Rizal (Radar); Daet, Camarines Norte; and Legazpi City, Albay reached 42°C.
PAGASA said a heat index under the “danger” level ranges from 42 to 51°C.
Affected individuals in these areas may experience heat-related illnesses including cramps and exhaustion. There is also a higher risk of heat stroke with continued activity.
