Gawad Manileño honors outstanding companies, individuals

The Manila local government honored outstanding companies and individuals, including Manila Bulletin President and Vice Chairman Dr. Emilio C. Yap III, during the Gawad Manileño awarding ceremony at the Metropolitan Theater in Ermita, Manila, on Monday, June 17.

Manila Mayor Honey-Lacuna Pangan and Vice Mayor John Marvin "Yul Servo" Nieto led the annual awarding ceremony.

The program started with a prayer led by Rev. Fr. Bing Caintic of San Vicente de Paúl Parish, and Shaik Abdul, president of the Ulama Supreme Council of the Philippines for Peace and Development.

Performances from the Philippine Normal University Kislap Sining dance, Rondalla and chorale groups also entertained the audience.

The Gawad Manileño 2024 awardees for "Mga Natatanging Tagapagbayad ng Buwis sa Real Property" were Asian Terminals Incorporate, Manila North Harbour Port, Inc., Megaworld Corporation, SM Prime Holdings, Inc., International Container Terminal Services, Inc., Robinsons Land Corporation, and Petron Corporation.

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ramon Ang was honored with the Gawad Gat Andres Bonifacio award.

Awardees for the "Mga Natatanging Tagapagbayad ng Buwis Para sa Negosyo" were International Container Terminal Services, Inc., Mercury Drug Corporation, Asian Terminals Incorporated, Manila North Harbour Port, Inc., Puregold Price Club, Inc., Philippine Chinese Charitable Association, Inc., SM Prime Holdings, Inc. and Golden Arches Development Corporation.

Jolly Management Solutions, Inc., Acabar Marketing International, Inc., Fieldmen Janitorial Services Corporation, Topserve Service Solutions, Inc. and Sanford Marketing Corp. received the award for the "Mga Natatanging Employer Na Nagbigay Trabaho sa mga Manileño." 

Action on Smoking & Health Philippines was honored with the "Natatanging Manileño sa Larangan ng Sosyo-Sibikong Mga Gawain" award and BYE Tondo - Building Youth Empowerment Tondo with the "Natatanging Manileño sa Larangan ng Kapakanan at Pagpapaunlad ng Kabataan" award.

Jefferson C. Lau from Barangay 281 Zone 26 bagged the "Natatanging Manileño sa Larangan ng mga Gawaing Pambarangay" award and Paul John Dalistan Lee received the "Natatanging Manileño sa Larangan ng mga Isport" award.

Dr. Emilio C. Yap III of the Manila Bulletin Publishing Corp. was honored as the "Natatanging Manileño sa Larangan ng Mass Media."

Architect Froilan C. Robas was named "Natatanging Manileño sa Larangan ng Kultura at Sining."

Dr. Esperanza C. Cabrera accepted the award for "Natatanging Manileño sa Larangan ng Mataas na Edukasyon," Reynora V. Laurenciano for "Natatanging Manileño sa Larangan ng Mababang Edukasyon,"  Dr. Gina F. Pardilla for "Natatanging Manileño sa Larangan ng Pampublikong Kalusugan," and Lt. Col. Roberto A. Mupas for "Natatanging Manileño sa Larangan ng Pagpapatupad ng Kapayapaan at Kaayusan."

Judge Anne Perpetual S. Rivera-Sia of the Metropolitan Trial Court and Judge Jacquieline S. Martin-Balictar of the Regional Trial Court was hailed as the "Natatanging Manileño sa Larangan ng Panghukuman," and  Prosecutor Lourdes Austria Gatdula as "Natatanging Manileño sa Larangan ng Serbisyo ng Pag-uusig."

Maria Rosario Navarro "Charo" Santos-Concio was also recognized as "Natatanging Manileño sa Larangan ng Pag-arte sa Pelikula."

Roselita T. Ilagan from the Manila City Library was honored with the Gawad Rajah Sulayman award. 

Lacuna-Pangan congratulated the people, companies, and organizations for their significant contributions to the city's progress.
