Expect heavy traffic in Quezon Memorial Circle for ‘Pride Festival 2024’ on June 22


The local government of Quezon City has announced that heavy traffic is expected in the vicinity of the Quezon City Memorial Circle (QCMC) on Saturday, June 22, due to the “ Love Laban 2 Everyone” Pride PH Festival March and Float Parade.

The event will start at 3 p.m. and will end at 6 p.m.

The city government said that the march will start in Tomas Morato Avenue going to Timog Avenue, Quezon Avenue, to Elliptical Road and on to Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC) - Commonwealth Avenue entrance gate.

It added that it will also conduct a Pride PH Festival satellite march on Matalino St., and the simultaneous march will start in Malakas St. straight to East Avenue, and Elliptical Road to QMC entrance gate.

Motorists coming from Mother Ignacia, Sgt. Esguerra, Epifanio De los Santos Avenue (EDSA) going to Timog Avenue must take Sgt. Esguerra then right to Sct. Bayoran St., left turn to Sct. Torillo or Sct. Borromeo St., then take a left turn to Sct. Torillo or turn right at Sct. Madriñan St., and turn right to Sct. Torillo straight to their destination.

Those coming from East Avenue towards Timog Avenue going to Quezon Avenue must make a left turn on Sct. Ybardolaza St., or turn left on Sct. Torillo St., then turn right on Sct. Fernandez St., take a left turn to Mother Ignacia Avenue, then right to Sct. Reyes St., or to Sct. Magbanua.

Meanwhile, those coming from Examiner and Sct. Albano St., going to Timog Avenue must take Sct. Albano St., then turn left on Mother Ignacia Avenue and turn right to Samar Avenue.

Motorists coming from Examiner and Sct. Albano St., going to Don A. Roces Avenue must take Sct. Albano St., then turn right on Mother Ignacia Avenue and turn left to Sct. Tuason St.

Parking areas are available at the QC Hall compound, North Avenue, Mayaman St., Quezon Avenue, and Miriam Defensor-Santiago Service Road.

The local government unit said that personnel from the Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) and the Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) will work together to manage the traffic flow in the affected areas.

Motorists were advised to take alternative routes.
