VP Duterte thanks fathers for shaping future leaders

Vice President Sara Duterte on Sunday, June 16, thanked fathers for molding their children who would eventually become the country’s future leaders.

In her message for Father’s Day 2024, the official honored and thanked “the brave, hardworking, and loving pillars of our homes - our fathers.”

“From your strength, determination, and hard work for your family are emerging and shaped young people who will lead and defend the future of our nation,” she said.

The Vice President furthered that she continues to pray “for your (fathers’) success and fulfillment of your dreams for your families.”

“May you continue with your enthusiasm and you find happiness in life,” she added.

Duterte, however, did not mention her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, who had a falling out with President Marcos.

In 2018, when her father was still the Chief Executive, she thanked him for his “rigid discipline” and attributed her achievements to her father’s guidance.
