Mayor Zamora invites amateur rappers to join battle competition
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora on Saturday, June 15, called on all amateur rappers in the city to showcase their talents and join the Rap Battle Daily Competition from June 17 to 22.

The rap battle competition is part of the week-three celebration activities for the Wattah Wattah Festival in the city.
Zamora said the competition's theme is “Makabagong San Juan sa Bagong Pilipinas,” and the inter-barangay daily elimination rounds will be held from Monday to Saturday, June 17 to 22.
The final round of the battle will take place on Sunday, June 23.
The winners of the contest will receive:
1st prize – P50,000
2nd prize – P30,000
3rd prize – P20,000
Additionally, all participants from Monday to Saturday will receive P1,000 as a consolation prize.
In the final round, the finalists will receive a consolation prize of P5,000.
For more information and other mechanics of the competition, Zamora encouraged participants to register at their respective barangays and provide any valid ID or proof of residency in the city.
Aside from the competition, many more activities will be conducted in line with the third-week celebration of the festival, such as novena masses from June 17 to 22, the turnover of the replica of St. John the Baptist on June 18, Kadiwa ng Pangulo at San Juan City Hall Atrium on June 19 to 20, and Kalinisan Day-National Showcase with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr., Mass baptism, Dinner for a cause at Club Filipino, the 2024 Mayor's Cup Volleyball Competition for women and men on June 22.
Additionally, the 2024 Mayor's Cup Basketball Championship will be held on June 23, featuring women’s, seniors', and juniors' basketball teams.
A fiesta mass and the opening of the Jubilee Door, a celebration of the 130th anniversary of its elevation to an archdiocesan shrine and the proclamation of St. John the Baptist as the city's official patron saint on June 24.
