Las Piñas health office holds successful vaccination drive vs HPV

The Las Piñas City Health Office (CHO) conducted a successful three-day vaccination drive against human papillomavirus (HVP) to 1,000 young girls aged 9 to 14 years old.
Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the CHO team under Dr. Julie Gonzalez conducted vaccination to young girls last June 7 to 9 at the Robinson’s Las Piñas.
Aguilar said the CHO team provided vaccination against HPV to young girls ensuring their protection before their sexual debut.
She said the vaccination drive is a critical component of the city’s broader public health strategy to prevent HPV-related diseases, including cervical cancer.
Dr. Gonzalez emphasized the importance of early vaccination, noting that immunizing girls before they become sexually active significantly reduces their risk of developing cervical cancer later in life.
Vice Mayor April Aguilar who was present during the event underscores the city’s commitment to proactive healthcare measures.
The vice-mayor praised the efforts of the CHO and the dedication of the healthcare workers who facilitated the smooth and efficient administration of vaccines over the three days.
Aguilar said the vaccination drive is part of a series of health programs planned by the CHO aimed to address various health issues and ensure comprehensive healthcare services are available to all residents of Las Piñas.
