PAGASA: 35 areas at risk of 'dangerous' heat indices on June 16


The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has reported that 35 areas could still face a "dangerous" heat index on Sunday, June 16.

PAGASA said a 46 degrees Celsius (°C) heat index may be experienced in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan and ISU Echague, Isabela, followed by 45°C in Aparri, Cagayan; Legazpi City, Albay; and Masbate City, Masbate.

Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Bacnotan, La Union; Calayan, Cagayan; CLSU Muñoz, Nueva Ecija; Casiguran, Aurora; Alabat, Quezon; and Virac (Synop), Catanduanes may experience a 44°C heat index.

MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte; Itbayat, Batanes; NVSU Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya; Baler (Radar), Aurora; Sangley Point, Cavite; Infanta, Quezon; Juban, Sorsogon; CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur; Roxas City, Capiz; and Guiuan, Eastern Samar to experience a 43°C.

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Pasay City, Metro Manila; Sinait, Ilocos Sur; Basco (Radar), Batanes; Calapan, Oriental Mindoro; Cuyo, Palawan; Daet, Camarines Norte; Mambusao, Capiz; Catarman, Northern Samar; Catbalogan, Samar; Tacloban City, Leyte; Maasin, Southern Leyte; and Dipolog, Zamboanga Del Norte may have a heat index of 42°C.
