Las Piñas tourism office marks 125th anniversary of 'Battle of Zapote Bridge'

The Las Piñas City Tourism and Cultural Office (LPTCO) celebrated the 125th year of the “Battle of Zapote Bridge" on Friday, June 14.
Paul Ahljay San Miguel, LPTCO head, led the offering of wreath in memory of the sacrifices of Filipino soldiers in the battle against the Americans.
San Miguel said the Battle of Zapote Bridge is being remembered every June 13 to honor the courage of two generals, Artemio Ricarte and Mariano Noriel, together with around 4,000 to 5,000 Filipino soldiers who fought for Philippine independence.
The official said Zapote Bridge is one of the historical landmarks preserved by the city government.
