Joe Alwyn opens up about breakup with Taylor Swift for first time

English actor Joe Alwyn has finally spoken out about his surprising breakup with Taylor Swift after six years of dating.

During a recent interview with The Sunday Times Style, Joe who is typically private about his personal life, opened up about his past relationship with the 34-year-old pop star. He described their time together as a journey of 'long, loving,' and 'fully committed 'emotions.

When asked if he had listened to her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," which is rumored to be about their breakup, Joe responded: 'In thinking on what I was going to say, I would think and hope that anyone and everyone can empathize. … This isn’t a direct answer to your question, but just thinking about what I want to talk about.'

'I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathize and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years,' Alwyn added, according to a report by dailymail.co.uk.

The 33-year-old star bravely admitted that the end of their long-term relationship has been 'a hard thing to navigate.'

Last April, it was confirmed that Swift and Joe had officially ended their six-year relationship. The singer has since moved on with Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce.

Taylor and Joe reportedly met when they crossed paths at the 2016 Met Gala.

The "Cruel Summer" singer previously revealed that she and Joe spent their time in quarantine making music together.

The dailymail.co.uk added that Taylor and Joe were together for six years but split up last year when many believed they were destined to marry after her disastrous love life and her dating of some of the world's most famous men.
