GSIS, PGEA ink pact to boost program awareness

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) and the Philippine Government Employees Association (PGEA) have teamed up to boost awareness of the pension programs.

This partnership was solidified through the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish the GSIS-PGEA Education and Speakers’ Bureau.

According to the GSIS, the bureau is dedicated to enriching the understanding and involvement of government employees in the several programs and services provided by the pension fund.

Through a series of targeted seminars, workshops, and sessions conducted nationwide, the Speakers’ Bureau aims to deliver important information to PGEA members, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding their pension benefits.

“This initiative represents a proactive approach to educate and empower our members ensuring they have the knowledge and resources they need to secure their future and enhance their overall well-being,” Wick Veloso, GSIS president and general manager said.

PGEA National President Esperanza S. Ocampo for her part, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative.

“The Education and Speakers’ Bureau allows us to effectively cascade the latest GSIS developments to our members, significantly widening the reach of information. This enhanced awareness will empower our members to fully understand and utilize their benefits,” Ocampo said.

Under the agreement, the GSIS will provide experts and resources to support the establishment and maintenance of the joint Education and Speakers’ Bureau.

GSIS will also develop and distribute educational materials on its programs, train and deploy speakers for educational seminars and workshops, and facilitate the Annual GSIS Members Conference.

PGEA will assist in developing educational content and promotional materials, promote GSIS programs and events through various communication channels, coordinate logistics for speaking engagements and educational workshops, and act as ambassadors of GSIS programs to ensure effective dissemination of information to members.

PGEA is the national umbrella organization of public sector workers and unions in the Philippines.
