Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar honored two centenarians in the city in a simple ceremony held at the Mayor’s Office located on the 2nd floor of the City Hall.
Aguilar was joined by Vice-Mayor April Aguilar in honoring Hilaria Apoderado,100, and Faustina Servande, 104, and presenting them their benefits under Republic Act 11982, known as the Centenarian Act.
She said the simple ceremony for Apoderado and Servande was held in recognition of their remarkable longevity and contributions to the community.
The Centenarian Act celebrates Filipino citizens who have reached 100 years of age or more, acknowledging their valuable role in the community.
In addition to the benefits provided by the act, the two city officials personally gifted the centenarians with cash.
The mayor expressed admiration for the centenarians and pride in having them as part of the community.
Vice Mayor April said their lives are examples of the strength and resilience of senior citizens.
