35 areas experience 'dangerous' heat index on June 15 --- PAGASA

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) recorded "dangerous" heat indices in 35 areas on Saturday, June 15.

The highest heat index of the day recorded by PAGASA was 47 degrees Celsius (°C) in Casiguran, Aurora.

A 46°C heat index was logged in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; ISU Echague, Isabela; and Virac (Synop), Catanduanes. Followed by 45°C in Calayan, Cagayan; Aparri, Cagayan; Calapan, Oriental Mindoro; Legazpi City, Albay; and Masbate City, Masbate.

A 44°C heat index was felt in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Bacnotan, La Union; Itbayat, Batanes; Alabat, Quezon; Daet, Camarines Norte; Roxas City, Capiz; and Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Pasay City, Metro Manila; NVSU Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya; CLSU Muñoz, Nueva Ecija; Tayabas City, Quezon; Sangley Point, Cavite; Infanta, Quezon; CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur; and Mambusao, Capiz a heat index of 43°C was experienced.

A heat index of 42°C was experienced in Sinait, Ilocos Sur; MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte; Basco (Radar), Batanes; Iba, Zambales; Baler (Radar), Aurora; Juban, Sorsogon; Catarman, Northern Samar; Tacloban City, Leyte; Maasin, Southern Leyte; and Dipolog, Zamboanga Del Norte.
