Quezon farmers receive aid under FARM program


TIAONG, Quezon – House Speaker Martin Romualdez turned over agricultural inputs and farm equipment that will benefit 3,000 farmers during the launching of the Farmers Assistance for Recovery and Modernization program in the second district of this province on Friday, June 14, at the Tiaong Convention Center here.

Romualdez was assisted by House Deputy Speaker David C. Suarez, Alona party-list Rep. Anna V. Suarez, and Tiaong Mayor Vincent Arjay Mea.

The program was first launched in Leyte followed by the Quezon second district, composed of Sariaya, Candelaria, Tiaong, Dolores, and San Antonio towns and Lucena City.

Farmers also received assistance under the Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Ating mga Displaced Workers program in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Department of Agriculture (DA).

Eight-hundred college scholars received their P5,000 stipend each during the launching.
