‘Habagat’ rains to persist across western parts of VisMin, Palawan this weekend — PAGASA

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” is expected to persist this weekend, before weakening again by the start of the coming week, based on the weekly weather outlook issued on Friday, June 14.

PAGASA said Palawan and the western sections of Visayas and Mindanao can expect mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms on Saturday, June 15.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon or evening.

From Sunday to Tuesday, June 16 to 18, PAGASA said Palawan will experience scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

However, the rest of the country may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon or evening.

From Wednesday to Friday, June 19 to 21, PAGASA said that although the influence of the southwest monsoon may weaken, the Philippines can still anticipate partly cloudy to cloudy skies with frequent isolated rain showers or thunderstorms across the entire country, mostly occurring in the afternoon or evening.
