Xian Lim says he did not initiate the breakup with Kim Chiu

Actor Xian Lim clarified that he did not initiate the breakup with his former girlfriend, Kim Chiu.

Xian clarified during an interview on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda on GMA Network on June 12.

"At first, Boy asked Xian if he and Kim were still friends despite their breakup.

Xian said: "Of course, of course. Nagulat ako sa tanong. Yes!

"To be completely honest, ever since we went our separate ways, hindi pa po kami nakakapag-usap. But when that night happened, maayos yung pag-uusap namin.

"Of course, may iyakan. We went through 12 years of our existence. It has that respect.

"Ang dami kasing kuwento kaya nga yan ang mahirap sa isang public figure. Our relationship is public and they've been there since Day 1 ng panliligaw pa lang all the way to more than a decade.

"People come up with these lies, kung ano man. But when we released our statement, we both decided to part ways," the star of "Playtime" said.

In December 2023, Xian and Kim announced their split in a joint statement after 12 years. Boy asked Xian who initiated the breakup.

Xian said: To be completely honest, I was not the one who engaged in the separation. I wasn't the one who initiated the breakup.

"I understand why the supporters are angry. I understand why they feel betrayed. Pero masakit din yun para sa amin. And they are watching from a distance. Heto kaming dalawa.

"We have our talks. Nagusap kami privately.  Hindi na kailangan pang himayin kung sino ang nagkulang. I think the length (of our relationship) would speak for itself. 

"Despite the pambabatikos sa akin ng karamihan, I think they should see it from a lens na. For more than a decade, my record is clean, and I'm proud of that.

"You're not going to see me in places you're not supposed to see me. Yun lang siya. So time speaks for itself.

"It's just sad na maraming intrigang lumalabas especially against me. I don't want to make it seem like na si Xian ang ingay ingay because may promo ng pelikula. It's a very delicate thing, and I understand why people are upset. But we are okay," the actor said.
