PAGASA: Rain showers expected in parts of Mindanao due to easterlies

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday, June 13, said the easterlies, or warm winds originating from the Pacific Ocean, will prevail over certain areas of Mindanao.

Expect cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms over Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, South Cotabato, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, and Zamboanga Sibugay.

PAGASA warned that these areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rainfall.

The easterlies may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to Caraga and the rest of the Davao Region.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said partly cloudy to cloudy weather is expected with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms in the rest of the country, including Metro Manila.

PAGASA also warned the public about potential flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
