The Caloocan City government launched its first housing caravan under the "Pambansang Pabahay para sa Batang Kankaloo" program at the Caloocan City Sports Complex on June 11.

The initiative aims to assist over 1,500 families, particularly informal settlers, renters, and residents without homes, in accessing low-cost housing in the Bagumbong and Deparo residences.
In line with the President’s Executive No. 34 and Republic Act No. 11201, which reinforce the State's commitment to providing underprivileged and homeless citizens with adequate, safe, and affordable housing, the program underscores the city's dedication to address housing needs.

Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along Malapitan the housing caravan aims to inform residents about housing programs in Bagumbong and Deparo, including the application process.
The goal of the Housing Caravan is to provide our citizens with information about housing projects in Bagumbong and Deparo, including the application process),” he said.

The city mayor also expressed his gratitude to the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), the National Housing Authority (NHA), and the city's Housing and Resettlement Office (HARO) for their unwavering support.
We are deeply thankful to DHSUD, NHA, and especially to HARO for their efforts in helping our fellow citizens acquire their own homes),” the city mayor said.
Malapitan emphasized that priority will be given to those in urgent need of housing, such as informal settlers, to swiftly facilitate their transition to a new life.
He also vowed and reassured his constituents that the city government will continue to expand the affordable and accessible housing programs within the city.
To the Batang Kankaloo, please don't worry because we will ensure to continue implementing programs to provide more affordable and accessible housing in the City of Caloocan),” Malapitan said.
