OFW Party-list Rep. Marissa "Del Mar" Magsino expressed her condolences to the families of the three overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who perished in a fire at a heavily populated residential building in Mangaf, Kuwait.
"Nakikidalamhati ang OFW Party-List sa pagkamatay ng tatlong kababayan dahil sa sunog," Magsino, an assistant minority leader, said in a statement on Thursday night, June 13.
(OFW Party-list sends its condolences over the death of three of our countrymen because of the fire.)
She said two more OFWs were in critical condition due to the incident.
(In this situation, our OFWs must immediately feel the care of our government, that's why we are banking on the quick action of the Embassy of Kuwait, DMW, OWWA, especially when it comes to helping the families of the OFWs who passed away.)
She told OFWs about the importance of getting ample information on the building safety checklist of their host country, especially for those who will be deployed for the first time.
(OFW Party-list is also open to providing any type of help that the affected OFWs and their respective families would need.)
