Grade 1 pupil drowns in Nueva Vizcaya

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya â€“ A Grade 1 pupil drowned on the Magat River in Basa-ok Extension, Purok 3, Barangay Salvacion, this town, on Tuesday, June 11.

Police said the seven-year-old victim and his cousin left their house without permission to swim on the Magat River an hour before the incident.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead

Police advised parents living near the river to closely monitor their children to avoid any untoward incidents.

Meanwhile, a fisherman was rescued after his motor banca capsized due to huge waves in the sea in Barangay Zabali, Baler, Aurora on Tuesday, June 11.

Coast Guard Ensign Ryan Joe Arellano, assistant spokesperson of the Coast Guard Northeast Luzon District, said that Romel Mapindan, 41, of Barangay Zabali, is now in stable condition.
