Drugs for delivery: Rider flagged down for not wearing a helmet yields shabu

A Lalamove rider who was flagged down for not wearing a helmet yielded some P170,204 worth of shabu and was immediately arrested on Wednesday, June 12, in Pasay City.
The Southern Police District (SPD) said Pasay City Police Chief Col. Samuel Pabonita reported the arrest of alias Marc, 25, at around 5:50 p.m. at the intersection of Park Avenue and Ignacio St., Barangay 75, Pasay City.
The SPD said the suspect was flagged down by members of the Pasay police Substation 3 who were conducting “Oplan Sita” for not wearing a motorcycle protective helmet.
The police said that when the suspect was flagged down and was about to be issued a traffic ordinance violation receipt (TOVR), he became uneasy.

The suspect attempted to escape on foot and left his motorcycle but was prevented from doing so. Found in his possession were 25.03 grams of shabu worth P170,204.
The suspect was detained at the police custodial facility after his arrest and was charged for violation of Republic Act 10054 (Not Wearing the Standard Protective Motorcycle Helmet) and Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
