42 areas experience 'dangerous' heat index on June 13 --- PAGASA

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) recorded "dangerous" heat indices in 42 areas on Thursday, June 13.

The highest heat index of the day recorded by PAGASA was 49 degrees Celsius (°C) in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. Followed by 47°C in Daet, Camarines Norte and Roxas City, Capiz.
A 46°C heat index was felt in Aparri, Cagayan; ISU Echague, Isabela; Casiguran, Aurora; Virac (Synop), Catanduanes; and Masbate City, Masbate.
Laoag City, Ilocos Norte; NVSU Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya; Baler (Radar), Aurora; Sangley Point, Cavite; Alabat, Quezon; Legazpi City, Albay; and Catarman, Northern Samarc a heat index of 45°C was experienced.
A heat index of 44°C was experienced in Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Bacnotan, La Union; Calayan, Cagayan; Iba, Zambales; CLSU Muñoz, Nueva Ecija; Calapan, Oriental Mindoro; and Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Pasay City, Metro Manila; Sinait, Ilocos Sur; Tayabas City, Quezon; Ambulong, Tanauan Batangas; San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Cuyo, Palawan; Iloilo City, Iloilo; Tacloban City, Leyte; and Borongan, Eastern Samar a heat index of 43°C was felt.
Meanwhile, the heat index reached 42°C in Science Garden Quezon City, Metro Manila; MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte; Itbayat, Batanes; Basco (Radar), Batanes; Cubi Pt., Subic Bay Olongapo City; Mulanay, Quezon; Juban, Sorsogon; Mambusao, Capiz; Dumangas, Iloilo; Catbalogan, Samar; and Maasin, Southern Leyte.
PAGASA classifies a heat index within the danger level if it ranges from 42°C to 51°C.
