PAGASA: Afternoon or evening rain showers to prevail across most of the Philippines
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday, June 12, that isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening could persist across most parts of the country.
Partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may prevail over Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region due to the easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, may also experience partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned the public about potential flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
In the PAGASA’s Wednesday morning public forecast, Weather Specialist Obet Badrina said the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” may return in the next few days, which may cause more frequent rain showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
He added that PAGASA has not monitored a tropical cyclone that may affect the country in the coming days.
