Mercedes-Benz in the Philippines, has just launched the all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV. The brand new luxury SUV is the second electrified SUV in the brand’s Philippine catalog and is the fifth to join Mercedes-Benz’s stable of EVs. The vehicle was unveiled at the Mercedes-Benz BGC Showroom in the presence of bank partners, VIPs, executives and the motoring media.

The brand’s EV push continues, albeit at a slower rate, as the German brand recently announced a restructuring of their original plan to have a zero-combustion catalog by 2025, pushing the target date to 2030 instead.

The EQE SUV is a bigger brother to the EQE sedan with both vehicles sharing the same platform and drivetrain options. The styling is similar, but looks more like a bulked up EQE sedan to achieve a heftier profile. The EQE SUV features a sleek and aerodynamic design that is representative of the brand’s current styling for their EVs. Prominent LED headlamps curve and blend into the fenders as they do to the black panel grille with star patterns. Features such as seamless door handles that feature the Mercedes-Benz branding when popped out, exhibits a level of detail only seen in premium products. The look is complemented by 21-inch AMG multi-spoke wheels in a machined, glossy finish wrapped in 265/40 R21 Pirelli P Zero tires. Advanced lighting technology, including digital LED units equipped with ultra-range high beams, are a subtle nod to the amount of tech and engineering that’s within the vehicle. At the rear, LED tail lights designed in a curved 3D helix shape, along with a continuous light band, create quite the visual effect.
