Korean rapper B.I returned to Manila with a fun-filled concert that included interacting with fans and performing more than 40 songs. 

B.I held his 2024 tour “Hype Up” in Manila on June 9 at the SM North EDSA Skydome. Joining him was singer Leo, an artist under B.I’s 131 Label. . 

This was his return to Manila in three months since holding his “Privé Alliance Meets B.I” show last March at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

During the “Hype Up” concert, B.I remembered his performance at the “Overpass” K-pop concert in June last year and said he told other artists about the Philippines.  

“I performed pretty well that time.  It kind of reminds me. And I also felt like Oh, what is this? How come the Philippines is enjoying this well?’ And I’m actually the one who made the rumor to other artists that the Philippines, or Manila, is the best country to have fun in a concert,” he said. 

As B.I. experienced it himself and other Korean artists who have performed in the Philippines, Filipino fans are great when it comes to cheering and screaming during concerts. 

B.I’s setlist at the Manila concert was impressively long, especially his encore performance. 

He opened the show with “Michaelangelo” followed by “Alive,” “One and Only,” “Waterfall,” “Illa Illa” and “Loved.” 

In addition, he also performed “Numb,” “4 Letters,” “BTBT,” “Keep Me Up,” “Got It Like That,” “Remember Me,” “Dare to Love,” and “Pretty Plzzz” (with Leo). 

Leo performed “Come Closer” and “Farewell,” two songs in his first mini-album “Come Closer” that was released last month. 

B.I continued his set with “Tasty,” “To Die,” “TTM,” “Flame,” “Lover,” “KV Freestyle,” “Born Hater,” “Smoke,” “Nineteen,” “The Island of Misfit Toys,” “Die For Love,” “All shook up,” “Wave,” “Beautiful Life,” “Cosmos” and “Re-Birth.”

During the encore, he performed songs such as “Illusion,” “Be I,” “Alone,” “S.O.S,” “”Endless Summer,” “Idol” and “Middle With You.” 

B.I went down from the stage to interact with fans while performing. This allowed fans to have a selfie with him. 

Fans surprised B.I with a video with the message, “Thank you for allowing us to share a page in your youth, Hanbin. Love, Your IDs.” 

On X (formerly Twitter), Leo posted, “Thank you manila for an amazing night!!! was really nice to meet you all. see you again soon!! 

As he wrapped up his show, B.I. said, “It’s been a while. Thank you so much for coming.”

“HYPE UP in MANILA. Had a blast today spending time with my IDs! Thank you Manila,” he wrote on X.
