Rizal province residents join cleanup events for 123rd Araw ng Lalawigan


Residents of Rizal province celebrated the 123rd Araw ng Lalawigan on June 11 by participating in the province-wide cleanup activities.

Provincial and local government employees were joined by police and other uniformed personnel in the simultaneous cleaning and greening activities all over the province as part of the celebration of the 123rd Araw ng Lalawigan.

In Angono, Rizal, Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon and Vice Mayor Gerardo Calderon led local government employees in the cleaning activities that started before 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11.

Rizal Governor Nina Ricci Ynares lauded the capitol employees for the simultaneous cleaning and greening events in various parts of the province.

“Kudos to the Rizal Provincial Capitol employees, LGU representatives, members of the youth groups, and residents who volunteered and gave their whole-hearted support and showed their love for the environment,” Ynares said in her post on her social media page.

The cleanup activities have become a regular event in the province not only during the Araw ng Lalawigan but also during major events in the province in line with the capitol’s Ynares To Green Program and “Oplan Busilak”, two of the major pro-environment projects of the provincial government.
