Navotas LGU partners with DOH, Philhealth for citywide health system


The Navotas City government on Tuesday, June 11, inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Health and Philhealth for the establishment of an integrated citywide health system.

Present during the signing were Mayor John Rey Tiangco, Dr. Rio Magpantay, regional director of DOH Metro Manila Center for Health Development (MMCHD); and Brian Florentino, Local Health Insurance Office head of PhilHealth NCR-North.

"Through the MOU, we can secure additional technical and financial support from the national government for the UHC program. This agreement ensures equitable access to quality and affordable healthcare for Navoteños," Mayor Tiangco said.

The integrated system is a strategy for the local government to improve health services and systems in the city.

"Establishing the UHC integration site in Navotas also facilitates the faster and more efficient delivery of health services to our constituents. We are grateful to DOH and PhilHealth for their continuous support to our city," he added.

The initiative forms part of the implementation of the Universal Health Care (UHC) Act.
