Authorities arrested a woman who stabbed her live-in partner to death allegedly out of jealousy inside their house in Barangay 777, Sta. Ana, Manila, on Tuesday, June 11.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as Rhaiza Alonzo, 25.

According to the victim's relatives, the suspect and the victim, Cecilio Lopez, were having an argument inside their room at around 11:25 p.m. on Sunday, June 9.

They said that at the height of their argument, the suspect suddenly took a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim on the chest.

In a closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from Barangay 777, the victim and the suspect were seen outside seeking assistance from other people to bring Lopez to Sta. Ana Hospital.

However, at around 12:01 a.m. on Monday, June 10, the victim was pronounced dead.

The suspect went to see the victim at the hospital and was subsequently arrested by the authorities after being positively identified by the victim's relatives.

Police said the suspect disclosed that her live-in partner had another girlfriend which was the reason for their heated argument.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the MPD Homicide section.
