CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – A barangay chairman and his driver were gunned down in a gasoline station in Barangay Del Pilar here on Tuesday afternoon, June 11.
Police identified the victims as Matt Ryan dela Cruz, 37, chairman of Barangay San Pedro Cutud here and his driver Henry Aquino.
The Police Regional Office-3 said the victims were onboard a red Mitsubishi Montero with license plates WQC-788 and stopped by the gasoline station to refuel.
A black Toyota Vios appeared from behind and a passenger fired at the victims who died on the spot.
The suspects fled toward San Fernando proper.
Police found fired cartridge cases for caliber .45 and 5.56mm in the area.
Lawmen are conducting follow-up operations.
