36 areas still experienced 'dangerous' heat index on June 11

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) recorded 36 areas across the country that experienced a heat index within the “danger” level on Tuesday, June 11.
A dangerous heat index ranges from 42 degrees Celsius (°C) to 51°C. It indicates that a person is more likely to experience heat-related issues such as cramps and exhaustion and a higher chance of heat stroke with continued activity.
On Tuesday, PAGASA observed the highest heat index of the day at 47 degrees Celsius (°C) in Legazpi City, Albay.
Laoag City, Ilocos Norte experienced a heat index of 46°C, while it reached 45°C in Calayan, Cagayan; Aparri, Cagayan; Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Sangley Point, Cavite; Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro; Cuyo, Palawan; and Roxas City, Capiz.
Meanwhile, it was recorded at 44°C in Pasay City, Metro Manila; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; Masbate City, Masbate; and Davao City, Davao del Sur.
It reached 43°C in Dagupan City, Pangasinan; Batac, Ilocos Norte; Echague, Isabela; Muñoz, Nueva Ecija; Baler, Aurora; Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas; Daet, Camarines Norte; Virac, Catanduanes; and Juban, Sorsogon.
A heat index of 42°C was registered in Quezon City, Metro Manila; Sinait, Ilocos Sur; Bacnotan, La Union; Itbayat, Batanes; Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya; Alabat, Quezon; Mambusao, Capiz; Iloilo City, Iloilo; Siquijor, Siquijor; Catbalogan, Samar; Tacloban City, Leyte; Borongan, Eastern Samar; and Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte.
With the dissipation of the low pressure area near Mindanao, PAGASA said hot and humid weather is expected across the country in the next 24 hours.
