Rain showers, thunderstorms to prevail across parts of the Philippines
Two weather systems prevailing across the country may bring isolated to scattered rain showers or thunderstorms in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, June 10.
Palawan may experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon, locally known as “habagat.”
PAGASA warned that flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rainfall.
The habagat may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Oriental Mindoro.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country may continue to experience partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.
PAGASA also warned the public about possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Weather Specialist Obet Badrina added that PAGASA has not monitored a tropical cyclone that may affect the country in the next few days.
